The story behind YOGATHEA® started when founder Tara Galles, MS, OTR began to experience a Christian Spiritual Awakening while teaching her yoga class. Grieving an unexpected loss in her family, and her child suffering life-threatening illness, Tara discovered yoga and meditation to be a powerful and healing practice of faith that could be used to connect people with God, and was called to share this with others. As Tara continues to follow this calling, she teaches many to "Breathe the Peace Which Transcends All Understanding - Mind + Body + Spirit” through YOGATHEA® classes and events.

Tara Galles, MS, OTR, earned a BA in Psychology and a Master's of Occupational Therapy Degree from the University of Indianapolis in the late 90's. She met her husband Joseph Galles while they were both serving in the teen ministry of their church, and married in 2001. Tara is the mother of 4 children, and she found opportunity and flexibility in the fitness industry to balance her professional and family life. With 25+ years experience as a successful fitness instructor and having built a thriving group exercise department at a local gym, Tara understands the essential elements of successful fitness programming. In 2012, she was inspired to offer her science and fitness experience to develop YOGATHEA® pre-choreographed Yoga. She has since inspired hundreds of women and men, and new instructors, with her intentionally designed YOGATHEA® Christian yoga classes and videos.

In addition to her work through YOGATHEA®, Tara’s life is blessed in many ways! Tara practices Occupational Therapy part-time and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University Kokomo teaching in the Division of Allied Health Science. Tara currently resides in Kokomo, Indiana with her husband and 4 children. She enjoys writing "Mantra Manna" through her blog "Maranatha Mat Chat"; and riding her bike with her signature bright orange helmet with lights.
